Google built-in
Google Maps, Google Assistant and the Play Store on the centre screen. Single feature €250, any three €550.
Tip: The model year is the 10th character of the VIN. A model year often starts in the previous calendar year – if in doubt, we check the system for you.
Engines: petrol (e.g. T2, T3, T4, T5, B3, B4), diesel (e.g. D3, D4) and plug-in hybrids (T4 and T5 Recharge).

Which features can be coded on a Volvo XC40?
On the XC40 we unlock, among others, the speed limiter removal, Pilot Assist, cornering light with high beam and – depending on the system – easy entry, remote engine start, cluster themes or start/stop deactivation. What works on your car depends on model year, engine and equipment. We check this in advance using the VIN.
Does my XC40 have Sensus or Google built-in?
Sensus: model years 2018 to 2022. Google built-in: from model year 2023 (built from approx. May 2022). You can recognise Google built-in by Google Maps, Google Assistant and the Play Store on the centre screen. The model year is the 10th character of the VIN (e.g. K = 2019, L = 2020, M = 2021, N = 2022, P = 2023). In the changeover year we check it for you.
Can the 180 km/h speed limiter be removed on the XC40?
Yes, on every XC40 with the factory 180 km/h (112 mph) limit (from approx. 2020) – with Sensus and with Google built-in. Depending on the engine up to 250 km/h is possible, T6 and T8 Recharge with Google built-in: raised to 220 km/h. Your tyres must be approved for the speed. More about the speed limiter removal.
How much does coding a Volvo XC40 cost?
Single features cost €200 (Sensus) or €250 (Google built-in), any three as a bundle €450 or €550. The speed limiter removal costs €450, Pilot Assist €750. All prices: price list.
Do I have to bring my XC40 to a workshop?
No. Coding is done by remote: you connect your XC40 to a Windows laptop with an ENET cable, we do the rest – usually in 20–30 minutes, wherever you are in Europe. Everything can be reset to factory settings later.
